A Day in a Writer’s Life

First post of the new year, and I’m in the revision chair with a first draft of my book due at the beginning of February. It’s great to be back in 1849 on the Oregon Trail, and I love reacquainting myself with my characters and their dilemmas, finding new ways to torture them and deepen their story arcs. But it’s not easy. 90% of the time, I look like this:tumblr_mjyo9nKMrX1qff6llo1_500

Interspersed by moments like this, when the lightbulb comes on:K5bhGa8

After a full day of writing, which for me, means 8-10 hours (a solid chunk in the morning (9am-1pm including a nap), and later at night from 9pm-1am) I do this:

And then I get up and do it all over again.  Have I mentioned I love it?

Last exciting thing to mention –  Pitch Wars is happening tomorrow and I’m so excited to root on my mentee, Bethany Smith and my alternates, Becky Lees, and Shanna Miles.  I’ll be hosting a few of the alternates on my site, so see you soon!
